"The Best Game in Town"
  1. Friday Night
    • Every Friday night from 6pm to 10pm we host open gaming in the Community Room at the Barrington Street Superstore, which is located right in downtown Halifax across from the Via Rail station. It is free to all who want to come, but we ask that everyone respect our code of behavior. Players are free to arrange whatever games they like, but most people bring Warhammer 40,000 FireFight armies (see below). We provide table space and wargaming terrain. Anyone making use of our terrain is asked to pay $1.00 - come check it out!

  2. FireFight
    • This is the name we came up with for our 500-point WH40K format. This is a set of guidelines for playing a small-scale game of Warhammer 40,000. The army selection guidelines for FireFight are as follows:

      FireFight - 500 points
      HQ none
      Troops 2-6
      Elites 0-1
      Fast Attack 0-1
      Heavy Support 0-1
All models Toughness 5 or less
All vehicles armour 12 or less
      Imperial Guard: Troops 1-6
      No ordnance weapons

    • There are some advantages to the FireFight format:
      • no super characters or uber monsters - more troops
      • shorter games - possible to play more than one in a night
      • easy for newer players to collect and paint a 500-point army
      • lighter, less filling - a more relaxed atmosphere

    • On Friday Nights, we are a bit more slack, but at a FireFight Tournament, all armies must be fully painted, and completely WYSIWYG. Non-Citadel miniatures are allowed.

  3. Dropzone
    • This is our full-blown Warhammer 40,000 tournament. The format follows GW's Rogue Trader model, with players scoring points for games, army selection, sportsmanship and army appearance, with a knowledge quiz used as a tie-breaker. Our last Dropzone event was at the 1500-point level, and had players playing 3 games over the course of a full day; 10am to 10pm. Prizes are awarded for Best Army, Best Appearance, Best Sportsman and Overall Champion, as well as a 'Guess the number in the Jar-o-Figz' prize, and other assorted Booby Prizes. As this is *not always* an official GW Rogue Trader event, non-Citadel miniatures may be allowed. All armies must be fully painted, and completely WYSIWYG.

  4. Battlecry
    • This is our full-blown Warhammer Fantasy tournament. The format follows GW's Rogue Trader model, with players scoring points for games, army selection, sportsmanship and army appearance, with a knowledge quiz used as a tie-breaker. Our last Battlecry event was at the 2000-point level, and had players playing 4 games over the course of a full day; 10am to 10pm. Prizes are awarded for Best Army, Best Appearance, Best Sportsman and Overall Champion. As this is *not always* an official GW Rogue Trader event, non-Citadel miniatures may be allowed. All armies must be fully painted, and completely WYSIWYG.
