Code of Behavior
"The Golden Rules"
  1. Play for Fun!
    • These are, for the most part, competitive games and the most important part of competition is not winning. Sportsmanship defines the quality of a player more than anything else, and this is reflected in everything we do at RogueBattalion. All the scoring at our events places the highest value on sportsmanship scores, and we do not award a prize for 'best general'. These games require a lot of effort and patience - the payback is that they should be fun and enjoyable for everyone, whether you win or not.

  2. Respect the Game
    • Wargames can be exciting, but try to be aware of the enjoyment of others. Try and keep the noise level to a dull roar, and let the players enjoy their games. Don't grab models without asking permission, and don't make suggestions about strategies for other people's games. Feel free to ask players occasional questions, but try not to distract them from their game. Time at our events is limited, and it can be unsatisfying to have to leave a game unfinished.

  3. Respect the Space
    • RogueBattalion does not own a space, and so our events are held in rented or shared community spaces. Please be mindful at all times of the room we are in, and treat it with respect. Do not leave trash behind. Do not bother people that are not connected with our event. We have a hard time finding affordable spaces, so if you get us kicked out of someplace we are gonna be pretty mad at you. We want to always leave a space in as good a condition as it was when we came to it, if not better.

  4. Respect the People
    • We are all adults, even though we are playing with toy soldiers. Please keep your conduct within the bounds of decent social behavior. A little good-natured trash-talk between friends is part of the game, but haggling and harrassing will not be tolerated. If one of the event organizers ask you to cool it, then take a step back and calm down before you really embarass yourself. Anyone displaying abusive behavior will be asked to leave.

  5. Bring your own stuff - and leave with it
    • RogueBattalion does not take responsibility for you or your stuff while you are at our events. Write your name in all your rulebooks and keep track of all your gaming materials. If you forget something, we will try to get it back to you, but we aren't making any promises. Same goes for any of that other legal stuff about personal liability and whatnot. If you slip and break your neck, we'll call you an ambulance, but you can't sue us. We guarantee nothing - no free parking, no vegetarian options, no scent-free workplace.
